How to Facebook
Facebook social networking site has over 800 million active users in countries across the globe. If you've decided to check out what all the fuss is about and give Facebook a try, you need only sign up for a free Facebook account and locate some friends, relatives or classmates on the website.

Navigate to Facebook.com and fill in the information in the Sign Up section. You must be at least 13 years old to open an account. Unlike some other social networking sites, Facebook requires you use your real name on your account. Supply your email address and a password. Select your sex and birthdate from the drop-down menus and click "Sign Up."

Check your email inbox for a confirmation email from Facebook. Follow the instructions in the email to verify your account.

Log in to your Facebook account for the first time. Enter some personal information when prompted. You may want to enter your hometown, high school, college or employer. Do not enter any identifying information that should be kept private. You are not required to answer Facebook's questions; however, entering some information makes it possible for friends to locate you on the site.

Type the name of a relative or friend who has a Facebook account in to the Search box at the top of the screen. Click on your friend in the results screen to open the friend's profile. Click the "Add Friend" button in the top right corner of the screen. Facebook sends a friend request to the person, who must accept the request before becoming your friend. Repeat for other people you know.

Return to your profile by clicking your name in the Facebook menu bar. Click "Find Friends" in the menu bar. Facebook uses your information to suggest individuals as possible friends. Click the "Add Friend" button next to any person, and Facebook sends a friend request.

Use the categories in the left column to locate other friends. For example, click the box under "College or University" and enter the name of a college you attended. Enter the year as well. Facebook displays individuals who entered the same information on their profiles. View them and select any you recognize by clicking "Add Friend." Facebook sends a friend request.

Enter a profile picture and fill out information about your interests while you wait for the friend requests to be accepted. Facebook notifies you when you receive an approved friend request. Click "Home" in the Facebook menu bar in the upper right corner of the screen to go to your home page and view information about your new friends as they post it.

You can set options so that only certain friends can see your profile
You can also set filters so that only certain information is shown to you in your "Home" view.
Be cautious of what you put up on your facebook profile! Many people may have access to your profile!
