    • Dancing Shoes With 2- To 3-inch Heels
    • Flapper Costumes
    • Thigh-high Nude Or Pale Hosiery
    • Hair Gel
    • Lipstick
    • Hairpins
    • Pearl Necklaces
      • 1

Slick back your hair with hair gel. If your hair is long, apply gel, pull hair back and twist it into a bun. Pin the bun at the base of your neck.

      • 2

Put on bright red lipstick and emphasize the bow of your upper lip.

      • 3

Pull on nude or pale thigh-high stockings.

      • 4

Wiggle into a knee-length sleeveless dress, either without a waist or with a waist that is almost below your hips. A fringe at the hem is optional. Silk or chiffon looks best.

      • 5

Place a glittery headband on your head, adjusting for comfort. Insert a 10-inch feather into the left side of the headband, securing the feather with hairpins.

      • 6

Put on a 36-inch-long faux pearl necklace. It will look best if it falls to your abdomen.

      • 7

Wear dancing shoes with 2- to 3-inch heels.

I disagree with the boa and the elbow length gloves. Gloves were usually wrist length or elaborately decorated gauntlets at the time. The pearls and layers of jewellery I agree with. Boas - unless you were actually a cabaret dancer, the majority of flapper girls just going out to clubs wore beautifully beaded shawls or furs instead.

Boas are a great touch, so are pearls, but don't forget the elbow length gloves! They add some class to the outfit.
