How to turn off Snow Leopards 3D dock

Snow leopard is the latest release of the Macintosh OS, and as much as I love it there is still no option to turn off the 3D dock.
Some of us prefer the look and feel of the original tiger flat 2D dock

and if this is you, then your going to love how easy this is to accomplish.

Things You'll Need

• Leopard or Snow leopard OS
• Macintosh computer
• Copy and Paste Skills
• Knowledge in this article

Instructions

1. Open up terminal from the applications->Utility folder or you can just open spotlight and search for it by typing in terminal

2. This is where it gets easy copy and past the following code into the terminal window from step 3 and hit enter and close terminal.
   (to copy you highlight the following code and press command - C button combination) or however you prefer to copy and paste.

   to reset the dock back to how it was in all of its 3D glory copy and paste from step 4 into terminal and hit enter and close terminal.

3. 

   defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES
   killall Dock

4. 

   defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean NO
   killall Dock

Tips & Warnings

• Make sure to copy the code in its entirety to produce the desired effect.

• If your uncomfortable with using terminal there are many applications out there that offer the same function as this code.

• This code is SAFE to use in terminal.
