How to Change a Lawn Mower Tire

      Lift the side to be worked on, and slide the concrete block under the deck of the mower. Be sure that the mower is not running. Don't push the concrete block into the blade.

      Adjust your wench to fit the retaining bolt holding the damaged wheel. Side the wrench onto the head of the bolt, and turn the wrench counterclockwise while holding the wheel firmly with your other hand. Continue until the bolt is completely removed.

      Slide the retaining bolt through the hole in the center of your replacement wheel and into the frame of the mower. Turn the retaining bolt clockwise by hand, being careful not to cross thread the bolt. Slide the wrench onto the bolt, and turn counterclockwise to snug the bolt securely into place.

      Discard the damaged wheel. Lift the mower, and remove the concrete block from beneath the deck. Start your mower, and push it along while watching the new wheel and retaining bolt to ensure a proper fit.
