1
Prepare your cake according to the recipe. Divide the cake batter into one small round cake pan, one large round cake pan, and five small oblong cake pans. You will probably have to double the recipe in order to achieve this. Bake the cakes according to the recipe and allow them to cool.
-
2
Prepare vanilla frosting according to your recipe, or buy some canned vanilla frosting. Mix into the frosting several drops of yellow food coloring until it has a rich yellow color.

3
Remove the cooled cakes from the pans and place on cooling rack.

4
Place the large round cake toward the middle of the serving platter to form Pooh's tummy. Place the small round cake directly above the large round cake, toward the top of the platter, to form Pooh's head. Place two of the oblong cakes below the large round cake toward the bottom of the platter to form Pooh's legs. Place one oblong cake on each side of the large round piece to form Pooh's arms. Cut the final oblong cake in half and place each half above the small round cake to form Pooh's ears.
-
5
Spread the frosting over every cake piece and in between, using the frosting as a sort of glue to hold all of the pieces together.
-
6
Place two black gumdrops on Pooh's head to form his eyes and place a third black gumdrop in the middle of the face to form his nose. Place a curved piece of black licorice below the nose to form the mouth.
-
7
Lay several strips of red licorice onto the top half of Pooh's body and the top half of each arm to form his shirt.
