How to Do Fatalities in Mortal Kombat: Deception

Ever since the first Mortal Kombat video game hit arcades in 1992, the series has been known for its violent and controversial fatality moves, which players use to brutally maim defeated opponents. Each Mortal Kombat game introduces new fatalities to the mix, using the superior technology of newer game systems to enhance the violent spectacle. Mortal Kombat: Deception for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube continues the tradition, giving each character a set of fatalities that rank among the series' bloodiest.

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat your opponent in two rounds of battle. An announcer will yell, "Finish him!" and your opponent will become immobile.

    • 2

Move to the correct distance for your fatality. If your fatality requires that you be close to your opponent, stand right next to him. If your fatality requires that you be in sweep range, move so that you are a few feet away from him, while still within range of a sweep attack. If your fatality requires that you be far from your opponent, move so that you are at least one jump away from him. The quickest way to do this is to move close to your opponent and then jump back from him.

    • 3

Hold the block button if you are close to your opponent. This will prevent you from hitting him while inputting the fatality button combination.

    • 4

Input your desired fatality's button combination. You only have a few seconds to input the button commands, so do it quickly. If you input the correct command before time expires, you will perform a fatality. Consult a fatality moves list to learn the button combinations required for your favorite characters' fatalities.

Tips & Warnings

  • Practice the button commands so that you can do them quickly. Many beginner-level players have trouble performing fatalities because they input the commands too slowly. Try pressing the "change style" button to shift your character into "fatality mode," which can make inputting the commands a bit easier, especially if you are close to your opponent.
