In the mood for love?

From Quick Guide: Finding Romance in Marriage
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Check out the "Romance Calendar" and use a holiday as a theme for your evening. For instance, the third Saturday in October is Sweetest Day. Indulge your loved one with chocolates and other confections.

  2. Step 2

Rent a romantic movie. Push the furniture out of the way and spread a blanket out on the floor. Make sure to have plenty of pillows.

  3. Step 3

Take a drive out in the country to a predetermined spot. Set up a picnic ahead of time, with wine and candles. Watch the sun go down or the moon come up.

  4. Step 4

Build a bonfire on the beach. Roast marshmallows.

  5. Step 5

Buy a book and some massage oils. Learn to give and receive a good rub.

  6. Step 6

Go to a coffeehouse and read poetry to each other.

  7. Step 7

    Draw each other with crayons.

  8. Step 8

Feed each other a banana split.

  9. Step 9

    Go skinny-dipping.

  10. Step 10

See a movie at the theater. Sit in the top row at the very back.

  11. Step 11

Get your favorite restaurant meal to go. Eat it on a sailboat.

  12. Step 12

Send your loved one on a scavenger hunt for small gifts and novelties that you've hidden.

  13. Step 13

Go on a hayride (unless one of you has allergies) or a sleigh ride.

  14. Step 14

Go on a day hike or camp overnight somewhere secluded.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pack a citronella candle and some bug repellent for any outdoor picnics.

on 2/3/2009 Date with fun activities is always a good way to spend time getting to know someone in a more relaxed atmosphere. Try the CupidPA planning site http://www.cupidpa.com/ - I used it for planning activities and dates in the San Francisco area - gave me good ideas for movies, dinner, hiking, comedy clubs, bars etc. Try it out.

on 10/26/2008 These are great ideas and can be initiated by either party in a relationship. My website is for husbands who want to make their wives happy, but I'm really aware of the fact that wives need to do the same for husbands....we just have to make sure that we pick the activity that will actually please the other - and not just do it for ourselves!!!!

on 8/22/2008 Take the 3 hour journey to see her early in the mornin' and meet her after college with a single red rose, walkin' her home along the sea-front and listenin' to her day, just talkin', have another 11 roses waitin' for her at home with chocolates and a card, watch a nice film and after tell her to get ready for a meal at a nice restaurant with a view of the sea, afterwards take a cab home and lay in bed together, passin' her the jewellery you bought her from under the bed. Next, tell her you love her.

Did the trick =]

on 8/8/2006 Since I have 2 little ones and no babysitter, I wait until the middle of the night when the house is asleep and prepare a little desert. I take it to the backyard, light the candles and wake up hubby. He loves it every time. And we get alone time.
