How to Install the Ask Jeeves Toolbar

Ask Jeeves is a search engine that started in 1996. Although the "Jeeves" portion was dropped in the United States in 2005, the search engine is still known as Ask Jeeves in the United Kingdom (but as Ask.com in the United States). Installing the Ask Jeeves toolbar is a quick and easy process.

• Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer version 6 or higher

1. Visit the Ask.com toolbar download link. (See the Resources for the address.) Click on "Get Started." Click on "Save" when the pop-up window opens. If it asks you to save the file somewhere, navigate to where you would like the file, then click "Save" again.

2. Navigate to where you saved the file, double-click on the icon and click "OK" to begin the installation.

3. Wait for the confirmation message to appear. Restart your web browser and begin to use the toolbar.

Tips & Warnings

• If you want to uninstall the toolbar, open your start menu and enter the control panel. Choose "Add or Remove programs" and find "Ask Toolbar." Choose "Uninstall" to remove it.
