In the Sims 2 Pets, Sims marry each other in a more complex method than in the original Sims game. Sims now get engaged before marrying, and any adult Sim can get married. If the "University" expansion pack is installed, young adult Sims can be engaged, but not married. Once Sims are married, they move in together. Sim marriages may not stay permanent--Sims can break up and have affairs. Usually, Sims with the Romance aspiration doesn't want to marry.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pick a Sim. Have that Sim call up the Sim you want for a spouse. Invite them over. Call between 7:00 a.m and 10:00 p.m. Sims won't come over if its too late.

  2. Step 2

Greet the Sim when it comes to the door. Click on the Sim and choose "Talk." Pick "Chat." Keeping chatting until the option "Hang out" appears in the "Talk" window. Hanging out shows up quickly. Hanging out keeps your Sims talking longer than sharing interests or chatting.

  3. Step 3

Continue talking until you are friends and have a relationship level of 100. It may take a few days.

  4. Step 4

Invite the Sim over again. Click on the "Flirt" option. Flirt with the Sim. When you see pink heart appear over his head, that Sim has a crush on you. In your relationships window, a pink heart appears underneath the Sim's icon if you have a crush on them. Flirt, admire and joke until the kiss option shows up.

  5. Step 5

Kiss the Sim. As the relationship progresses, different kinds of kisses show up. The last option to appear will be "Make Out." Red hearts appear when the Sim has fallen in love.

  6. Step 6

Look for the propose option in the menu when you click on the Sim. Click "Engagement." If the Sim accepts, they are engaged. If the Sim denies, keep talking and kissing to improve the relationship, then try again. A bad mood also triggers a rejection. The last name taken is the Sim who proposes.

  7. Step 7

Click on the Sim, then click "Propose > Marriage." The two Sims will extra rings and kiss. The Sims move in together.

  8. Step 8

Throw a wedding party if you want guests to witness the nuptials. Buy a wedding arch from the "Buy" menu. Click on the telephone and choose "Throw party> Wedding party." Pick guests to come. Buy a cake, champagne, buffet table and chairs from the "Buy" menu, if you want. Once the guests arrive, click on the arch to get married. After the party, a limousine picks up the couple. They come back a few Sim hours later completely refreshed.
