Step 1
How to Make a Slide Show With Music Step 1
The first thing you will need is plenty of pictures. Focus your sideshow on a particular event such as a vacation or a period of time such as high school or college.
Once you have your pictures selected, put them all in a separate folder on your computer, labeled sideshow pictures. (be sure to copy and paste them so they are not accidentally deleted.)
Once they are in the folder, arrange them in the order you want them to appear, the best way to do this is chronologically. (in order from when the pictures were taken). This will save you time later when you put them into the slideshow -
Step 2

Now you need a song that will go with your pictures. Consider what kind of theme your sideshow will have, will it be action packed with pictures of your sports team, or maybe a softer theme remembering your days in high school?
Also consider the audience you are making this sideshow for,who is going to be watching it? You may want to select a song that they will like. -
Step 3
How to Make a Slide Show With Music Step 3
Now that you have your pictures and music ready, you are ready to make your slide show. To do this you will need to use a slide show maker or a movie maker. Luckily every window computer comes installed with movie making software called Windows Movie Maker. All you have to do is go under your start menu and find it.
You can also purchase a better movie making software that will have more features and controls but for a basic sideshow this will do. -
Step 4
How to Make a Slide Show With Music Step
All you have to do once you open Windows Movie Maker, is drag the pictures from the folder into the movie maker screen. You will see them appear on the time line in the bottom of the movie maker screen. You can click and drag the picture to adjust how long it stays on screen, and you can also chose how the slide show will move between each picture, ex, fade in or out to each picture. -
Step 5
How to Make a Slide Show With Music Step 5
The next step is to add your song to the sideshow. Simply drag the song file into the movie maker window the same as your did for the pictures. Once the music is there and you have the pictures positioned in the slide show the way you want them, you are ready to save your slide show and show your friends and family. -
Step 6
How to Make a Slide Show With Music Step 6
Although you can email the slide show, I would not recomend this as the file can be large and some peoples emails will not accept large files.
You can save your slide show to a disc and send the disc out to your friends but this costs extra money and time.
My favorite way to share your slide show is to post it on you tube or any social networking site.(there is a setting you can chose so that only your friends can see it.) Then all you have to do is email a link to the video and all of your friends and family can see it!

on 9/25/2009 A good basic way for just about anyone to use. I don't think most people are aware there is such a simple way to do it and the software is probably already on their computers! Nice work.
