How to Fix an RCA Big Screen TV

  • RCA remote control

Poor Picture Quality

  • Change the channel to make sure the problem isn't specific to one channel. If the problem persists on all channels and on all sources, like a DVD player, continue to troubleshoot.

  • Press "Menu" on the TV's remote control.

  • Use the "Up" and "Down" arrow buttons to highlight "Picture Quality." Press "Enter."

  • Select "Picture Controls." Adjust the brightness, contrast, color, tint and sharpness of the picture by using the "Right" and "Left" arrow buttons.

  • Exit the menu and see if the problem has been resolved.

Front Panel Buttons Inoperable

  • Check to see if the front-panel buttons are disabled. In the "Parental Controls" portion of the main menu, select "Front Panel Block." Choose "Unblock" or "View," depending on your model, to enable the front-panel buttons.

  • Enable the front-panel menu. Select "Channel Block" in the "Parental Controls" portion of the main menu. Select "Off."

  • Reset the television and try again.

Reset Your Television

  • Unplug the TV from the wall outlet or surge protector.

  • Wait 5 minutes.

  • Plug the television into the same outlet.

  • Turn the TV on to see if the problem has been resolved.
