UPDATE YOUR ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE
If you don't have any anti-virus software, now is the time to install it. In order to delete the virus, download and install a free version (link below).
If you do have anti-virus software installed make sure that the definitions are up-to date. If they are not, update your virus definitions and rescan the computer.
Select the file that the software finds and delete it. ***If you have done this step and the virus is still on your system please see the next two steps.

SEARCH GOOGLE FOR SPECIFIC VIRUS DELETION INSTRUCTIONS
If you've scanned you system using an anti-virus program and found a specific virus that your software can't delete, then write down the exact name of the virus and do a google search for "xxxx removal instructions". Substituting the name of the virus for xxxx.

MAKE SURE IT'S A VIRUS AND NOT SPYWARE
