How to Clean a Convertible Top Plastic Window

While a few companies are making affordable convertibles, most are produced by luxury car manufacturers. If you're spending big on your convertible, make sure to do what you can to keep the car looking its best. Many convertibles come with a small plastic window so that you can see out the back when the top is up. Like a window on a regular vehicle, this plastic window will get dirty. Unlike a regular window, you can't clean it with a simple glass cleaner.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray the plastic window cleaner onto the plastic window.

    • 2

Wipe the cleaner over the plastic window using a back-and-forth motion. Start at the top and work your way down to the bottom of your window.

    • 3

Wipe away the cleaner using the same back-and-forth motion with your second hand towel.

    • 4

Repeat on the other side of the window.

    • 5

Wipe down the plastic window a final time, buffing out any spots you may have missed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Glass cleaners can damage the plastic. Using a circular motion while cleaning will leave visible swirl marks in the plastic.
