How to Find Someone Who Is Invisible on Yahoo! Messenger

There are times when you log onto Yahoo! Messenger and see that some or most of your friends on your buddy list are offline. The truth is some of them are actually logged onto Yahoo! Messenger but have placed their accounts on invisible mode to appear as if they are offline. By using some simple built-in Yahoo! Messenger tools, you can easily find out who is logged on to Yahoo! Messenger but is on invisible mode.

Instructions

1. Launch your Yahoo! Messenger program and sign in using your screen name and password if you are not currently signed on.

2. Double-click the contact/friend who is currently displayed as being offline. This will automatically open the chat window.

3. Click the "IMVironment" button on the chat window and select "See all IMVironments."

4. Select "Yahoo! Tools" or "Interactive Fun" and click on "Doodle." After about a minute, Doodle will display a blank page if that the person is online (but in invisible mode). It only alerts you of the contact's online presence, but you still will not be able to chat until the contact disables invisible mode.

• To find out who is invisible, you can also type your friend's screen name on a status checker web page, such as IMsnoop.com.
