Approach A Potential Client
Approach A Potential Client

If you have a business or looking to start one, then you know how important clients are to your survival. So, how do you approach a potential client? How do you set an appointment? What if...

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Confidence
  • Positive Attitude
  • Thick Skin(not literally)
  1. Step 1

Before we begin, keep in mind that you want to see if your potential client will be open minded to your opportunity. If they are not, you will usually know in the first 3 minutes.

If that is the case, try and talk to them about the benefits of partnering with you(if you haven't already done so)

Some benefits could be: proven system, full-time income, free opportunity, etc.

  2. Step 2

Now, lets say you were able to keep your potential clients' attention, what next? Okay, at this point you want to set an appointment. Remember, you probably started talking on the street, subway, supermarket or the bank(yes, I've seen that happen)

So, you want to set an appointment to meet? Do just that. Don't try to sell anything or have them join anything. You only want to have them look at your business.

  3. Step 3

Here's a quick example of what to say: In your introduction, you would say Hi, and include his or her name. Ask them if they have a minute to talk? Hopefully the answer is yes. If not, then ask when is a good time to talk?

  4. Step 4

Tell them the reason why you are calling. Example: "The reason why I'm calling you is because(you fill in the blank based on your business) Let them know that is doesn't cost any money - like the one listed in the resource area. If it does cost, I would let them know upfront. Please don't try to be shady in this area.

  5. Step 5

Let him or her know that it would be beneficial for us to sit down and take a look at how it works.

Very easy and of course this is just a generic type of appointment setting.

  6. Step 6

Now, if they have questions, which they usually do, cost is usually the first question they ask. If you require any type of costs, please let them know. Do not hide this information. You should be honest from the beginning to the end.

With this particular business, there is no cost, you don't have to sign anything or buy anything. If you get a question you cannot answer, let them know that you will get the answer for them. Write it down in front of them. This shows your interest.

  7. Step 7
    Welcome aboard
    Welcome aboard

At this point, your potential client should show more interest in your business. You will now commence in the final part of your business partnership by introducing any paper work necessary and compensation details necessary.

    Congratulations on your future endeavors.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to keep an open mind
  • Stay focused
  • You should practice with family or friends if you've never approached anyone before
  • Not everyone will listen
  • If you require a fee, you may lose more potential clients
  • Do not hide any vital information(explain any initial down payments, compensation, etc)
