-- Fresh Lemon --
Cut a large lemon in half, squeeze some of the juice out of both halves in a bowl, and then put both lemon halves in the bowl. Microwave on 90 seconds to 2 minutes on high power. Your microwave oven interior will be filled with lemon scent after this process.

-- White Vinegar --
Fill a mug or small microwavable bowl with a mixture 1:1 ratio white vinegar and water. Put it in the oven then heat on high for 4 to 5 minutes. The boiling mixture remove the stubborn odors through the vent.
Use clean cloth or paper towel to wipe down remaining water droplets on the interior. -

-- Enzymatic Solution (Cleaner) --
The stuff pet owners use to clean off pet 'mess' and you can find this at pet stores. Buy a bottle of enzymatic cleaner, if it come in a spray bottle, fine. It not, pour some in a spray bottle and spray enzymatic solution liberally inside the microwave oven. Wipe dry with a cloth or paper towel.

-- Dish Detergent --
Soak a clean or new sponge in water, and then add to it - 2 to 3 drops of hand dish washing liquid. Put the sponge inside microwave oven and then heat for 60 to 90 seconds. After that, leave steam, detergent and hot sponge for 5 to 10 minutes in your microwave oven. Next, use the same sponge to wipe the interior follow by paper towels to dry.

-- Active Charcoal --
Fill a bowl full with active charcoal to remove burnt smell and lingering odor from foods in the microwave oven. Keep it inside for at least 6 hours or overnight; repeat if needed.
* Active charcoal available at pet stores, drug stores and most large retail stores (i.e. Wal-mart).

-- Ground Coffee --
Fill a coffee cup (uncover) with 1/2 full of fresh ground coffee and keep it in the microwave oven. You may need to take the cup in and out every time you need to use the microwave, but the coffee keeps the odor down after heating food. Change the coffee once a week or so, depending on the frequency you use the microwave oven. You can sprinkle the used ground coffee in your yard as compost.

-- Baking Soda --
Wipe clean the microwave with a mix of water and baking soda, 2:1 ratio, respectively. Next, fill water in an 8 ounces microwave-safe mug or container, about 3/4 full, then stir in 1 tablespoon baking soda. Heat the mixture 45 seconds to 1 minute on high power; avoid overflow. Let the mug sit for awhile and let vapor do the magic.
