The use of wireless Internet has exponentially increased at home, work and in schools. As WiFi technology continues to gain in popularity, a common problem that arises is providing adequate coverage for the networking signal. Before paying additional money to install a signal repeater, or acquiring an external antenna for your laptop or computer, a lower-priced option to pursue is making a WiFi signal booster for your computer. A signal booster will increase the range in which your computer can use a wireless Internet signal, and be significantly cheaper than other options available to extend the range of your Internet availability.

Download and print the WiFi signal booster template. At the current size, the template will provide a 9 db signal boost for your wireless antenna's gain setting. If you desire to increase the boost to 12 db, you will need to double the template's size in an imaging program before printing on stock paper such as photo or card stock.

Use scissors and cut the WiFi signal booster template out from the card stock. Then, cut slits on the template where indicated with the scissors.

Cover the WiFi Signal Booster with glue. Then, wrap the template with aluminum foil and place tabs of the foil in the cut-out slots in the template.

Set the WiFi signal booster on top of your wireless router's antenna(s).

Point the WiFi signal booster template in the direction that you desire to have the range extended for your wireless router. Your WiFi signal will now be boosted.
