If you sell eggs, you'll need to purchase egg cartons in order to distribute them. If you need to package a large amount of eggs, you should purchase egg cartons in bulk. When you buy in bulk from egg carton retailers, you will pay less for the higher quantity that you purchase. Along with the bulk egg cartons, you may want to buy shipping cases to transport the eggs.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet connection
  1. Step 1

Locate distributors that offer bulk quantities of egg cartons. One online dealer of bulk egg cartons is Murray McMurray Hatchery (See Resources for link).

  2. Step 2

Decide on the material you want to use for your egg cartons. Egg carton packaging comes in plastic, paper or foam. Paper egg cartons are typically the least expensive, while plastic egg cartons cost the most.

  3. Step 3

Choose the size of egg carton you wish to purchase. Cartons can typically house either six, 12 or 18 eggs. You'll also need to check what size of eggs the egg cartons can hold. Many egg cartons can accommodate either standard-sized eggs or extra large and jumbo eggs.

  4. Step 4

Order either blank or printed bulk egg cartons. You can choose cartons with text such as "Farm Fresh Eggs" or customized egg cartons that display your farm information. Printed bulk egg cartons often have nutritional information on them. Blank egg cartons contain no printing at all.

  5. Step 5

Settle on the quantity of your bulk egg carton order. Bulk retailers will often require that you purchase a minimum amount of egg cartons, typically between 25 and 50. As you order higher quantities, the price per carton will drop. Check the shipping and handling fees before placing your order.
