How to Make a Cheap Shoe Rack
Shoes can cause the most clutter in a home. Even when placed in a closed shoes become uncluttered. With some cheap wood and few supplies you can make you own closet shoe rack Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 10 inch wide board
- Screws or nails for holding the wood together
- Wood clue (optional)
- Saw
- Drill with screw drive or hammer

Measure length of area needed for shoe rack and figure out how many levels you want. You will want to double the length of the wood for each level of the rack. Also add 20 inches for each level. This 20 inches is for the side legs of the shelf.

Cut 2 10 inch blocks for each level of the shoe rack. Cut the board length for each level. You can use a power saw or a hand saw. The power saw will make the work easier and shorter. Be sure to fully mark your lines and measure twice and cut once.

Attach the 10 inch sides to the longer board with the nails or screws. You can also use wood clue to hold the boards tighter. The screws will hold better but require the use of a drill to attach.

Paint or stain the shoe rack to any color you choose or you can leave it as it is.
