How to Change the Frequency on a Wireless DSL


Changing the frequency on a wireless router improves performance in busy neighborhoods where several home networks compete for a signal. The frequency setting on a router is labeled as a "channel." Changing the channel on a Linksys router is configured in the device's control panel.

  • Open a web browser and type the IP address of the router into the navigation bar. For most routers, the IP address is
