Troubleshooting a Vizio Plasma
-
1
Make sure there is power to the TV. If your TV won't turn on make sure it is plugged into a good outlet. Plug a different device into the outlet to ensure it works. If the outlet is good, make sure the plug is securely connected to the TV. Finally make sure the Vizio logo in front of the TV is white, indicating the power is on.

2
Make sure everything is connected properly. If the power is on, but you have no image, check all of your connections. If you are using HDMI make sure the cables are securely plugged into the TV. Also make sure the video device is turned on before the TV to ensure a proper HDMI handshake. Make sure all component cables are plugged into the correct inputs: red into red, green into green, and blue into blue. Make sure any composite cables are plugged into the correct inputs.

Make sure your settings are correct. If you have image-quality issues make sure your color, brightness, and contrast settings are all correct. Also, try to make sure you are watching high-definition signals where possible. A standard-definition signal will look noticeably worse on a high-definition plasma screen.
-
4
Make sure all input devices are close to the TV and there is no interference from other electronic devices. HDMI cable is an all-digital cable so it typically won't suffer from signal degradation over long runs, but analog cables will. If your analog input devices are far away from the TV, the cables may be too long for a strong signal to reach the TV. Move them closer and use shorter cables. Also, plasma TVs sometimes can pick up interference from microwaves, blenders or other appliances. Move those devices away from the TV.

5
Check your sound settings. If you have picture but no sound, check your audio settings. Make sure all of your audio cables are securely connected. Check to make sure the TV is not on mute, and try turning the volume up. Also, make sure no headphones are connected to the TV.
