The Navigon Max series GPS device is a sophisticated satellite navigation device that can be used to help you find your way to just about any destination. Features like the "Take Me Home" button and a Zagat Guide points of interest database allow users to customize their experience.
Turn on your Navigon Max series GPS device by pressing and holding the "On/Off/Standby" button for two seconds. The device will display a screen with the Navigon terms of service. After you've read the terms of service, tap the "Okay" button.
Set your preferences on the Navigon Max series GPS unit. After you've agreed to the Navigon terms of service, the Language Selection window will appear. Select your preferred language and touch "Okay." The Distance Unit Selection window will appear next, choose between "Miles" or "Kilometers," then tap "Okay." When the Clock Setting window displays, choose between the 12-hour or 24-hour clock, then tap "Okay." The Main Display window will now appear.
Set a home address for your Navigon Max series GPS device. From the Main Menu, tap "Take Me Home." Use the on-screen keypad to enter the city, street name and house number of your home address, tapping "Okay" after each selection. After you have entered the whole address it will be displayed on the screen. Touch the address to highlight it, then tap "Okay." Tap the "Home Address" button to save the address you just entered as your Home Address. Once the address has been saved as your Home Address, you can navigate to your home from anywhere by selecting the "Take Me Home" option from the Main Menu.
Create a route to a specific address by selecting "New Destination" from the Main Menu. Tap "Enter An Address" and use the on-screen keypad to enter the city or zip code of the address you want to be routed to, then tap "Okay." The Street Tab will open. Enter the name of the destination street and tap "Okay". Enter the destination house number, tap "Okay" and then hit "Start Navigation" to begin the route.
Create a route to a point of interest by choosing "New Destination" from the Main Menu. Select "Search for POI" and then choose a category for your point of interest from the Category Tab. Choose a subcategory from the Subcategory Tab when it opens. Tap the appropriate destination point of interest after browsing the presented list of options. Touch "Start Navigation" to begin navigating your route. Many of the entries in the points of interest database are rated by the prestigious Zagat Guide.
