If you do not want to wait to the last minute to buy stocking stuffers and want to save some money, here are a few ideas on how to get your shopping list complete before Christmas is even thought of!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wallet
  • Car/Bike/Bus
  • Paper
  • Pen
  • Hiding Place
  1. Step 1

The best time for me to buy stocking stuffers is in July and August because that is when a lot of stores have their school supplies on sale for back to school.

  2. Step 2

You can get a ton of items at a Back to School sale that are great for stocking stuffers. You can get pens, pencils, notebooks, staplers, colors, rulers, calculators, etc. There are a number of "little" items you can get to fill up the stocking. (These are also easy to store until Christmas because they do not take up alot of space)

  3. Step 3

The second idea is to get small items on your vacations throughout the year. These could be from key chains, magnets, ornaments, shot glasses, to recipe books, hats, t-shirts, etc. These work great because they are unique too.

  4. Step 4

The third idea that I do is get $5-$10 gift certificates from fast food restaurants, gas stations, coffee shops, book stores, etc. These are great and easy to store as well and they can be bought at anytime of the year.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buying early is easier on your budget and you will not get as stressed out because you are not waiting till the last minute.
  • Have fun and make each stocking individualized for each person
  • When buying gift certificates make sure they do not have expiration dates and/or fees.
  • Do not buy perishable items early.
