Honey has antibiotic properties derived from it's naturally occurring hydrogen peroxide. Honey has been shown in studies to speed healing. It is the perfect combination with garlic or onion to make a sore throat remedy or cough remedy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons freshly pressed garlic
  • 1 1/4 cups honey
  1. Step 1

Place 1 cup of apple cider vinegar into a glass pot.

  2. Step 2

Warm the apple cider vinegar and remove from heat.

  3. Step 3

Add freshly pressed garlic to the vinegar. It is important that the garlic is freshly pressed because medicinal components of garlic are released immediately after the garlic is crushed.

  4. Step 4

Let the vinegar and garlic cool to room temperature.

  5. Step 5

Strain the garlic from the apple cider vinegar.

  6. Step 6

Add 1 1/4 cups of honey.

  7. Step 7

Simmer over low heat until it reaches the consistency of syrup.

  8. Step 8

This can be diluted and used as a gargle to treat a sore throat or cough. Two tablespoons can also be taken directly to coat and sooth a sore throat or cough.
