How to Make a Floral Skin Toner With Herbs
Rosemary is often used as a substitute for other vegetable oils in herbal remedies. The essential oil of rosemary is also true to the scent of the fresh herb, making it desirable for use in aromatic herbal cosmetic concoctions. Finally, rosemary contains a volatile oil that encourages blood flow under the skin. This makes it perfect for use as a skin toner. A floral skin toner made with rosemary and other herbs is great for toning the skin and can be used in the bath as well. Things You'll Need
- ½ cup white wine or cider vinegar
- ½ tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tbsp. rosemary tops
- 1 tbsp. lavender tops
- 1 tbsp. rose petals
- 4 cups orange blossom water
- Glass jar with lid

Chop the rosemary and lavender tops. (You want to be sure to use the tender tops of the plants. You can also use lavender blooms if you prefer.)

Combine in a glass jar the chopped rosemary and lavender with ½ tsp. for whole cloves and tbsp. tablespoon rose petals in ½ cup of white wine or cider vinegar. Seal and shake well. Allow the mixture to infuse for two weeks. Shake the jar daily.

After two weeks, strain and add more fresh herbs to the infusion just as you did in Steps 1 and 2. Allow this new batch to sit for another two weeks, shaking it daily.

Strain the infusion one last time. For every ½ cup of the infusion, add 4 cups of orange blossom water. Bottle and use regularly.

Tips & Warnings
Orange blossom can be found at your local health food or herbal store. It is also often used in Persian and Arabic cuisines; therefore, you can check an ethnic food store for orange blossom water, too. This floral skin toner makes a great gift.
As with all herbal lotions or toners, test a small patch of skin before using.
