Snooker is a cue-based game that is slightly different from billiards or straight pool. One way to introduce yourself to snooker is to play snooker video games. You might have some trouble finding a console or computer snooker game in stores. Fortunately, there are several online snooker games that can help you learn more about the game. In these games, you can face off against human opponents or play simple one-player exhibitions in order to get used to the rules of snooker.

1
Join the 8Baller website (see Resource 1). Once you become a member, you will be able to play free snooker, 8-ball, 9-ball and straight pool games. The setup of this website is much like Yahoo Games in that you can join a created table or make your own snooker games. The biggest drawback is that there are no single-player or player-versus-computer games on this website. You must play against a human opponent.

2
Try the Flyordie online snooker games (see Resource 2). Just as on 8Baller, you will face off against other human opponents in these online snooker games. You also must register on this website in order to save your statistics. Players do have the option of playing as a guest, though, before creating a Flyordie account.
-
3
Play online snooker games on 3d Pool (see Resource 3). As the name of the game suggests, this website offers 3-D online snooker and pool games. You can test the game out by clicking the "Click Here For a Quick Try" tab on the homepage. You must register on the website in order to face off against opponents. When do you create an account, though, you will be able to practice against a computer opponent as well as search for human opponents.
-
4
Test yourself in the Fastest Break Snooker game (at http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/fastestbreaksnooker/playgame). The object of this online snooker game is to sink all of the balls on the table in order and do so as fast as you possibly can. Your only opponent in this one-player game is the clock. Players who complete this game will be able to save their scores after creating a free Mousebreaker account.
