Get Perfectly Smooth Legs When Shaving

In the summer season smooth legs are a must have! But hair removal without harsh chemicals or painful waxing can be difficult, however, there are a few easy steps that will lead to smoother legs when shaving in no time.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a razor
  • olive oil
  • a warm shower
  • shaving cream or moisturizing lathering body wash
  • moisturizer
  1. Step 1

    Your Razor
When you buy a razor (whether it's a cheap disposable or long lasting grooming supply) be sure to buy one with multiple blades. Once you've chosen a razor, prep the blade by drizzling a little olive oil over it. This help prevent dulling and rusting and facilitates the hair removal.

  2. Step 2

    Your Legs
Always keep your legs hydrated by moisturizing and drinking water. This helps keep the flesh strong and make it less prone to cuts.

  3. Step 3

    Shaving
When you are ready to shave your legs, make sure you do it in the shower (none of this on the go nonsense). Wait at least three minutes (preferably longer) before you begin to shave your legs; the warm water helps to soften the hair shaft. Lather your leg up with shaving cream or moisturizing body wash to help the razor glide over your leg. Elevate your leg (on the tub edge perhaps) and then pull upward with a smooth and confident motion applying a gentle pressure. Work systematically to hit all surface areas.

  4. Step 4

    Moisturize!
Moisturize after every shower and shave to smooth over any redness or irritation.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't go over an area more than three times with your razor, doing so will result in razor bumps and tiny cuts (you are getting to close to the skin).
  • Extend and unbend your leg to work on those tricky knees.
  • If you do nick your leg, press a piece of toilet tissue to the wound to stop the bleeding.

on 8/24/2009 I find that shaving cream dries out my skin. I use either baby oil or hair conditioner for shaving my legs.
