Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Position yourself vertically in the water, bent at the waist as if sitting in a chair.
Step2
Bending at the knees, swivel both feet in circles opposite each other - just like the motion of an eggbeater. Your left foot should circle clockwise and your right foot counterclockwise.
Step3
Hold both hands out in front of your body, with elbows bent, palms down and hands cupped. Make quick, small circles in the water with your hands.
Step4
Kick harder to raise your body higher out of the water.

on 2/20/2007 I have just started learning the eggbeater kick. Its not bad but I tend to move backwards when I am doing it. Moreover, I have to work really hard to keep my face out of the water. Any Suggestions!!!!

on 7/27/2006 Try holding 5kg-20kg weights, not above your head, but out of the water. Be sure to have a friend nearby to relieve you when you are tired (so that the weights do not fall into the water)! Try to do it for a minute. Once you can do it, either increase the weight or the time. In no time, once you take of the weights, egg beating will be easy for you!

on 3/26/2006 Many people told me it was just breaststroke kick, but alternating the legs and it never worked for me and I am a breaststroker! I taught myself eggbeater by putting my back against the side of the pool holding on just to get the motion down. Think of it as both your legs rotating toward the middle. It also help to use a kick-board and try doing horizontal eggbeater (again to get the motion down) and then try vertical eggbeater. Hope that helps.
