Things You'll Need:
- Patience
-
Step 1
Find all available Blackberry plans on all carriers available in your area for example AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile in most locations in the US.
-
Step 2
Use a spreadsheet and make these columns: Carrier, Minutes, Text Message, Data, Price, Contract Length, Promotions
-
Step 3
Determine how many minutes and messages you use on per weekday basis. If you talk on the phone for 10 minutes a day, you can probably get by with a 300 minute plan since night and weekend usually are free. Typical messaging plans are offered at 200, 300, 400, and unlimited. Find the right one for you.
-
Step 4
Call each carrier and ask them if there are any special promotions for signing a new contract. Tell them that you're considering switching carriers and would do so if a new carrier has a special promotion just for you.
-
Step 5
Go into each carrier's store and ask for a special discount. These companies make a lot of money for selling a data plan for two years. Many times if you just ask nicely, they will give you a discount on your new Blackberry phone.
