Microsoft PowerPoint is one of the world's most popular media and presentation software packages. Microsoft often releases updates for its products, and you should take advantage of these updates both to fix any bugs that have since been worked out, and to get the latest additions and improvements to the program. Fortunately, Microsoft built an update feature into PowerPoint that lets you upgrade from within the program.

Instructions

    • 1

In the PowerPoint program, click on the "Microsoft Office" button in the upper left corner of the window.

    • 2

Select "PowerPoint Options" from the menu that appears.

    • 3

In the left window pane, select "Resources."

    • 4

Click on "Check for Updates." That's all there is to it. PowerPoint automatically takes you to the Microsoft Update website, where you just click to download any applicable updates.

Tips & Warnings

  • When making a PowerPoint presentation, be sure to disable all screen savers on the computer; otherwise, you may be interrupted right in the middle of presenting a slide by the screen saver.
