How to Change Your WordPress Password
WordPress is one of the most popular blogging platforms. It is available in two forms. The free option is to have a blog at WordPress.com. The other way is to have a self-hosted WordPress website. Code for the self-hosted version can be downloaded at WordPress.org. The steps to change a user's password are the same for both versions.

Sign in to the WordPress admin dashboard using your username and password. The signin URL will end in "/wp-admin/." For a WordPress.com blog, for example: http://yourblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/.

The menu for the current versions of WordPress run down the left side of any page in the admin section. Select the "Users" menu option. This will take you to a list of all the users authorized for the site.

Select the username for which you want to change the password. This will take you to the "Profile" screen for that user.

You can change the password near the bottom of the page next to "New Password." Enter the same password twice. The password must be a minimum of seven characters long. The password strength indicator should indicate at least medium.

When you are happy with the password strength and have entered it twice, select "Update" and the new password will be in effect.

Tips & Warnings
You should delete the "admin" username that the WordPress site was originally set up with and use personalized usernames.
Select random passwords to stop hacking into the admin section.
Make sure the email in the contact information on the profile page is correct. This is where a forgotten email will be sent.
