How to Block the Website Yahoo! Answers

If you have ever searched for information on the Internet, you have likely come across the Yahoo! Answers website. The website works by people asking questions that others can respond and provide answers to. Because the answers are not always fact-based, the information you get might be incorrect or just plain useless. If you have a child who is performing research for a school paper, it is not a site that is recommended. If you wish to block the Yahoo! Answers website, for whatever reason, you can do so by customizing the settings of your web browser.

Instructions

Internet Explorer

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click "Tools" on the menu bar. Choose "Internet Options."

3. Select the "Sites" button that is located underneath the "Privacy" tab.

4. Type the Yahoo! Answers URL, "answers.yahoo.com/ ," into the "Address" window. Click the "Block" button to add the website to the list of blocked sites.

5. Click "OK" to close the window. Click "Apply" to save your settings.

Firefox

1. Open your Firefox browser. Download and install the "Block Site" add-on tool from the Mozilla Firefox website.

2. Restart your Firefox browser after the installation is complete.

3. Click "Tools" from the Firefox menu bar. Select "Add Ons." Click "Block Site."

4. Select the option to "Enable..." in Block Site.

5. Click the "Add" button to add the URL for Yahoo Answers,"answers.yahoo.com/ ," as a blocked site. Click "OK" to save your settings.
