Things You'll Need:
- PSPX
- Grunge texture
- Halloween clip art
-
Step 1
Choose orange and flood fillOpen a new 3600 x 3600 (or paper size of your choice) document in Paint Shop Pro X. Choose an orange color of your choice from your color palette. Flood fill the orange into the image. Go up to Layers in your toolbar and choose New Raster Layer. Leave the settings as they are. Blend mode: Normal. Opacity 100.
-
Step 2
Find the grunge texture you want to use and open the document onto your workspace. Use something dark with an appealing texture. Drag the grunge texture onto your orange image. Note: Holding the shift key down while you drag will center the grunge texture over the other one.
-
Step 3
In your layer palette to the side, choose an option from the drop down menu to blend the layers. I used Luminance on this with opacity at 100. Play with the settings to achieve the effect you desire. Here's mine.
-
Step 4
When you are happy with your result, go up to Layers, Merge and then Merge Visible to flatten the image out. Go back up to Layers and click New Raster Layer. Leave the settings as is. Find your Halloween clip art, I've chosen wicked little bats for mine, and open it.
-
Step 5
Drag and drop the clip art (resize it to whatever size your paper is, or copy and paste it onto the image) onto your new grunge texture. Go to the blending options in your layer palette to the side and choose a blending option that you like best. I chose Overlay at 100 percent here to achieve this effect. Mix and match clip art and grunge textures to create an endless array of papers! Check out www.freedigitalscrapbookingsupplies.com for papers and more. Enjoy!
