Things You'll Need:
- Disc
-
Step 1
Grab the disc with your middle and index fingers extended on the inside edge and your thumb on the outside.
-
Step 2
Hold the disc perpendicular to the ground, unlike in most throws, for which the disc starts parallel to the ground.
-
Step 3
Bend your elbow so your arm forms a 90-degree angle.
-
Step 4
Bring your arm back so your forearm is parallel to the ground, your elbow is pointed forward, and the disc is just behind your ear, its top facing toward you.
-
Step 5
Complete the throw with a chopping motion, as the name suggests.
-
Step 6
Release the disc when your arm is pointed straight up. The disc will flip over in midflight and descend upside down.

on 8/29/2006 Don't be afraid to get a little bit of a running start when you throw a tomahawk. Get your entire body into it to make it go a little farther.

on 8/8/2006 Try to angle your arm a bit if the disc doesn't turn over when released 90 degrees. It is easier to throw it a shorter length when the angle is less than 90 degrees.
