How to Export Google Maps

Google Maps is a great way to organize sites that you have customized. Whether you have a list of all your friends' addresses or the best computer repair shops, it is a great way to keep everything organized. You can even export your Google Maps to other applications.

Instructions

  1. Converting Your File

    • 1

"Right click" on "View" in Google Earth and "Copy Link Location."

    • 2

"Paste" the address location into a new browser window.

    • 3

Locate "&output=nl" in the address bar that you just pasted.

    • 4

Change the "nl" portion to "kml" for KML exporting or "georss" for GeoRSS exporting, then hit "Enter."

    • 5

Save the file that is loaded. If it turns into a RSS file, you can right click to "View Source," then "Save" the file.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can go back to Google format by changing the output back to "nl."

  • Make sure not to change anything else in the URL, or you are likely to distort the map.
