Another tip is to look for hotels in the less desirable arrondissements like the 15th and 18th. The 15th is a little further away from the Eiffel Tower but hotels will cost less. The 18th (Montmartre) has several good hotels that run about $100 dollars per night. It's about a 15 minute metro ride from Montmartre to Paris central.
