To find out how to reconfigure Firefox for faster browsing, follow the steps detailed below.

Instructions

    • 1

Open a new tab or window and type in the address bar, "about:config". Hit enter. You may get a message warning you that your warranty could be void by making any changes that cause software instability. As long as you follow the instructions exactly in this how-to, you should be fine.

Type in the filter 'network.http.'. Search for the terms "network.http.pipelining", "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" and "network.http.proxy.pipelining". These are the items you will be making changes to.

    • 3

Double-click "network.http.pipelining" and "network.http.proxy.pipelining" so that they both change from false to true. Double-click "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" and change the number to 8.

    • 4

Type in the filter "plugin.expose_full_path". Double-click the item to change it to true.

    • 5

Right-click anywhere on the page and select from the menu New > Integer. Enter the phrase "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and select OK. Then put the number 0 into the integer field and press OK. You can now exit from the about:config page.
