How to Wipe iPhone Memory

Every time you move up to a more modern phone, you have choice of recycling it, selling it or giving it away. Whatever you decide to do with your older iPhone, you don't want your person information passed on to someone else. Here is how to wipe clean the memory card on your iPhone.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    The first step to wiping cell phone memor is, find the settings menu on your iPhone. This will be the one with the picture of gears on it. Go to the bottom of the setting menu. You will see in the "General menu". There you will find a "reset" button.

  2. Step 2

    Next, press the reset button. A warning message will appear, telling your that your are about to erase your cell phone. Ignore the warning and press the, "erase all content and settings." button. This will begin the process of wiping your cell phone memory.

  3. Step 3

    Now all you have to do is wait! It can take up to a few hours for the information on your phone to be totally erased. Wait to assure that you have done it right. Now your old cell phone is ready for it's new owner to set it up with all there personal preferences.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never give your cell phone away without wiping the iPhone memory.
  • Never recycle your cell phone until you wipe iPhone memory.
