Things You'll Need:
- Cooler
- Glasses
- Pond
- Fishing Poles
- Lures
- Food and Drinks for everyone
-
Step 1
Choose LocationThe first step is to choose your location for fishing. Now when doing this you might want to research exactly what you are looking to catch or if you want a hot spot for a lot of fun. Some good ideas are to ask local bait stores and local fisherman you might actually know. Odds are they will know different popular locations and more secluded as well.
-
Step 2
Check on Best Time to FishCheck on when the best time is to fish. Certain times of the day will be better depending on what you are looking to catch. You should be able to research online what the best times will be or ask your local fisherman.
-
Step 3
Get Proper RodsNext you will want to make sure you have the proper fishing rods and that they are set up correctly for easy casting and for the type of fishing you will be doing. The best idea is to set them up and then utilize a hook on the last loop and reel it tight so there is a slight bend. This will allow them to be ready and as well neat.
-
Step 4
Get the appropriate bait or tackle that you will be using. By getting this set up and ready will help you when it is time to catch the fish. After all you might as well have the fishes favorite type ready to go.
-
Step 5
Prepare Meals And DrinksPrepare meals for everyone and obtain the proper drinks for the day. The best idea is to get a cooler and place everything in this. Make sure as well to get enough ice so that it will last through the day if needed.
-
Step 6
Find Fishing SpotOnce you are there make sure that everyone finds there main spot to fish and goes over the fact that there should be enough room for each person to safely cast there lines out in the water. Serious damage could occur if a hook sticks to someone.
-
Step 7
Prepare Hook or LureYou will now want to prepare your lure or hook onto your line. When doing this make sure it is securely on there by testing it out to make sure the knot is good. Researching different knots might help out and extend the life of the knot or lure.
-
Step 8
Ready to CastNow when you are ready to cast you will want to first make sure you have clearance and that know one is near to injure. You will now want to hold down your release button as you extend backwards with your rod just like if you were throwing a baseball and then bring it forward. You will want to release right around 11 o'clock or if your hand is a bit pass your head with your hand straight up. Remember as well to release the button as well at the same time. As well you can do this two hands as well but its the direction and follow through are the things that are important. For further instruction see the resource video below this article for more information.

Step 9
In Water TechniquesNow when your lure is out in the water you are going to have different techniques. If using a bobber you should be good to let it sit and just monitor to make sure it doesn't travel down the water to much or doesn't get tangled in shallow sea weed. When using a technique with constant movement make sure you give it one or two seconds to allow it to go down a little ways before reeling in. You will then want to create small movements with your pole and reel in to make it seem natural. Once it is back up you will repeat your basic casting and reeling in techniques. As well, remember there are different ways of doing this and will just have to be researched for more in depth routes.

Step 10
Fish on The LineNow when you know you have a fish on the line you will want to play it smart depending on the side. With your basic fish you will want to start to reeling in the line retrieving it while lower your pole towards the water. Now once flush with the water stop reeling and slowly raise your pole up towards 11 o'clock and continue this process until the fish is able to be netted or scooped up.
