Facebook is one of the biggest social networking sites on the internet but some people think that it is overwhelming or find it is just not for them. If have signed up for an account with Facebook and you would like to delete your account then you have come to the right place. This tutorial will show you how to close your account and delete your personal information off of your profile.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Facebook Account
  • Internet
  1. Step 1

The first step that you have to do is deactivate your account and once that is completed you will be able to permanently delete your information.

Log into your Facebook account using your username and password of the account you would like to close. This should take you to the homepage of your account. If you are not on the homepage, click Home in the navigational bar.

  2. Step 2

Click the settings link in your Facebook navigation bar. Once you are in your settings you will need to delete all of your email addresses except one. This is a very important step because you can only have one email address to permanently delete your account.

  3. Step 3

While you are in the Settings page find the the deactivation link and go through the deactivation process.

  4. Step 4

    Go to this page:

Click "Submit" and follow the instructions.

Your account will be deactivated for two weeks, and if you don't log in during that period, your account is permanently deleted.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you deactivate your account your information will still be accessible if you decide to join again.
  • If you decide to delete your account you will lose all of your information and it will not be able to be retrieved.
