How to Get a Pointier Nose

Save

Not everyone is endowed with a pointy, attractive nose. It is always too small, too pointed or too wide. It’s hard to find somebody whose nose is perfect for the face where it sits. If you’re one of those women who want to make their noses more pointed, don’t lose hope because you don’t have to spend a lot on a rhinoplasty procedure. The right choice and application of makeup is enough to make an illusion of a pointier and slimmer nose. Here’s how.

Things You'll Need

  • Bronzer
  • Contour brush
  • Foundation for your skin color
  • Highlight cream
  • Eye makeup

Instructions

Step 1

Apply foundation all over the face. There’s nothing like good foundation to conceal blemishes and prepare the skin for correcting imperfections. Make sure to apply foundation evenly and apply concealer as needed.

Step 2

Apply bronzer on the sides of the nose. Take your bronzer and, using a small brush, start applying makeup first on the right side of the nose. For this, you want to swirl your brush around the bronzer (if you’re using the bead types) and tap off the excess before running it down the sides of your nose down to your nostril. It’s important to start near the eye area to create a shadow to make your nose look slimmer.

Step 3

Use highlighter on the bridge of your nose. Create a line down the bridge of your nose to make it look more slender and pointed with your highlighter. Use a minimal amount and apply light pressure as you run the brush down the central part of your nose. Blend translucent powder to make the alterations look more natural.

Step 4

Play up your eyes. The best way to take some of the limelight from your nose is to play up other parts of your face. Apply the same highlighter on top of your brow bone, running it along the arch of your eyebrows. Take care not to use too much makeup, though. To create a bright, wide-eyed look, apply liner on the corners of your eyes.

Step 5

Avoid certain haircuts that emphasize a wide nose. Don’t wear your hair short or have blunt bangs because these styles don’t compliment wide or large noses. Go for clean, straight cuts and try to grow your hair longer if necessary

Step 6

Do away with jewelry or makeup that draws attention to the nose. Avoid wearing nose rings or any other facial jewelry that emphasize the nose. It’s also a good idea to stay away from bronzers on the cheekbones. There’s nothing more effective than applying a different shade of makeup on your nose to make it stand out.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are also accessories such as nose inserts that you can use to make your nose more pointed.
  • Make sure to use a bronzer that is a few shades darker than your skin tone. Alternatively, a darker shade of face powder will also work if you can’t find a bronzer of that tone.
