If you would like to add sound to your screensaver, you will have to create a complete video file with audio included or download one that you want to use. In this tutorial, we will assume you will work with a file you download off a video-sharing site. To create your screensaver, you will need to download and install two freeware programs: Format Factory and WG Screensaver.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Format Factory freeware
  • WG Screensaver freeware
  1. Step 1

Download and open Format Factory (see Resources below for download link). Select "ALL to SWF" from the panel on the left. Click on the "Add File" button and select the video file you want to use. Then click "Start."

  2. Step 2

Download and open WG Screensaver Creator (see Resources below for download link). Click "Add Files" and browse to the file you output in step 1. Name the file and click "Create Screensaver" button.

  3. Step 3

Right-click on your screen and select "Properties." Then click the "Screensaver" tab. Browse through the listed screensavers, and then select the one you created. Then click "Apply" and "OK."
