How to Fold Invitations

There is an emerging trend among all sorts of different invitations to fold them in such a way so that small additions and inserts are all tucked neatly together into one folded package. This is not only attractive, but it is also an efficient way to send invitations that have several pieces. Guests will be sure not to miss anything important when the invitation is folded together neatly.

  • 4.5" by 12" rectangle of card stock 4" by 5.25" rectangle of coordinating card stock 3.75" by 5" rectangle of light colored card stock Paper boner Scissors Ruler Glue stick Double sided tape Printer

Instructions

    • 1

      Fold the large card stock rectangle as shown in the image--2 inches from the left side and 5.5 inches from the first fold. Use the paper boner to make the folds crisp.

      Affix double sided tape along the long sides between the left edge and the first fold as shown in the image. Fold the paper in toward the center along the fold and press the paper down onto the double sided tape to hold the fold in place. This will be the pocket.

      Make the invitation insert with the 4" by 5.25" rectangle of card stock and the 3.75" by 5" rectangle of card stock. Either print out the invitation details onto the smaller rectangle or write the invitation details by hand. Glue the smaller rectangle onto the center of the larger rectangle.

      Tuck the rectangle invitation into the pocket. Place any other additional invitation pieces into the pocket.

      Fold the other side of the card stock rectangle over the items in the pocket to finish the invitation.
