Things You'll Need:
- A Flickr account
- A Twitter account
-
Step 1
FlickrOn Flickr there is some account preparation to do so that you can upload photos to Flickr and send a tweet and URL to Twitter simultaneously. Log in to your Flickr account. Choose Twitter from the Add a Blog Page (see Resources below for links).
-
Step 2
TwitterIn your account settings for Email you should now have a unique email address for posting to Flickr/Twitter simultaneously from your mobile phone or by email. If you've already been posting to Flickr by email or phone, you are familiar with this address, but the new one contains 2twitter in the address. Your new address for mailing photos will be something like uniquename2twitter@photos.flickr.com
-
Step 3
Add that new email address to your address books. Be sure to indicate that this email is for Flickr2Twitter, because you probably have another email address that will post photos only on Flickr in your address book. You need to be able to choose between them when mailing in a photo.
-
Step 4
Use this email address and the photo will upload to Flickr and automatically send a Twitter update. The subject line of the message will be both the Flickr title and the tweet. You have only 116 characters for your message; the rest will be a special short Flic.kr URL.
-
Step 5
Flickr2TwitterWhat if the photo is already on Flickr? You can still send a tweet about it to Twitter. Use the Blog This button on an individual photo page. Pick Twitter from your list of blogs and you can tweet the URL of an existing Flickr photo to your Twitter account.
