How to Troubleshoot a Nike Heart Rate Monitor

Information is recorded to examine features such as highest level of exertion, optimal heart rate and average heart rate. A timer is also included to determine the fastest lap time, split times and time frames of exercise.

Troubleshooting
-
1
Find the model number for your Nike Heart Rate Monitor. This troubleshooting guide will be for the Nike C8 model. Information on other Nike heart-rate monitors can be found in the Reference section.
-
2
Wear the heart-rate monitor directly against your skin for the best readings. If the heart rate is not showing on the monitor, make sure you are wearing the monitor in the appropriate position. If you are wearing the monitor over your clothing, the clothing must be wet to obtain a reading.
-
-
3
Make sure that the grooved sensors are wet, or you will not obtain a heart-rate reading.
-
4
Replace the battery if the heart-rate reading is erratic or suddenly stops. Also, try changing your location. Appliances running on the same frequency can interfere with the performance of your monitor.
-
5
Press and hold all four buttons at the same time if your monitor seems frozen. The screen might freeze after you replace the batteries, or even from static electricity. Pressing all four buttons will erase the memory and reset the watch.
-
6
Stop the heart-rate monitor from continuously beeping by checking your heart-rate zone. If you are out of your zone, the monitor will signal you by continuous beeping.
