How to Use an Olympus Digital Voice Recorder
Olympus manufactures a line of digital voice recorders for student and professional use. Most models are equipped with a massive 2 GBs of built-in memory, which will allow you to record for more than 3 continuous weeks before running out of memory (the batteries will die first). The recorders also feature stereo or mono capabilities for critical recording applications.

Choose to record in Stereo or Mono. Concerts and professional recording situations, such as seminars or conferences, sound better in stereo. Press "Record" on the Control Panel's circle of buttons.

Press "Pause" or "Stop" to halt recording. Check the digital readout on the LCD (liquid crystal display) to determine the length of your recording, remaining time available in memory and to manage different recording sessions. Connect your Olympus digital recorder to a laptop or computer via a USB cable and port.

Upload the recording to your computer by turning on all equipment, activating the "Upload" feature from the Recorder Menu, and editing your work with the software the comes with the Olympus digital recorder. You can create podcasts, audio presentations and files for attaching to an email. Sound files can be emailed to a transcriber if you require a printed copy of your recording text, such as from an interview.

Carry spare batteries in your briefcase or purse. Consider purchasing an external microphone for recording in noisy conference rooms.
