How to Do a Power-Slide Turbo Boost on Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart DS is the fifth game in Nintendo's Mario Kart franchise, and the first for their Nintendo DS handheld system. The game continues the tradition of its predecessors as a kart-racing game featuring characters from the popular Super Mario game series. The game has several modes, each with different goals to achieve. In the Mission mode, one of the goals is to perform a special move called a Power-Slide Turbo Boost.

Start the game and begin a race. The Power-Slide Turbo Boost can be done at any time, but in Mission mode it is the goal of Mission 1-8.

Press and hold the R button while driving into a curve. This will perform the Power Slide.

Press left and right on the directional pad rapidly while holding the R button to get the Turbo Boost. You will see blue sparks around the wheels of your kart.

Let go of the R button when the sparks turn orange. This will complete the Power-Slide Turbo Boost move.

This can be a difficult move to master because the timing is critical. Practice is the key to perfecting this move.
