Encrypt a Text File

Documents on your computer containing sensitive information, such as your Social Security Number, credit card numbers, financial reports and legal forms can be coded to provide a higher level of security. This is called encryption. Encryption protects your documents by turning words into unreadable, garbled text if viewed by unauthorized eyes.

Instructions

  1. How to Encrypt a Microsoft Word Document

    • 1

Open the MS Word document that needs encryption.

    • 2
