Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First attempt to connect to the internet on Iphone

The first thing the iphone does is searches for available Wi-Fi networks that you have already accessed with your Iphone. The iphone will actually pull up all available networks around you and rank them by the one you use most recently and attempt to connect you to that network.

  2. Step 2

Second attempt to connect to the internet on Iphone

If there are no networks in range that you have connected to before the iphone is set up to search for available Wi-Fi networks in range. Once your iphone has any Wi-Fi networks in range you will see a list of the available networks. You can choose from the list the network you would like to connect to. If the network is protected by a password or code you will be prompted to enter this when you select that network. These Wi-Fi networks will be listed with a lock symbol next to them.

  3. Step 3

The third attempt to connect to the internet happens when there is no available Wi-Fi networks in your area or you choose not to join an available Wi-Fi network. As the final attempt to connect to the internet on Iphone it will search for an available cell phone data network. This service is dependent on a cellular data network and you must be within range to get a signal to the network.

  4. Step 4

If you are not able to connect through any of these methods you will not be able to connect to the internet.
