Are you shy? Are you looking to break out of your shell? Follow these steps to overcome your shyness.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Force yourself to talk to people. Pick one person every day to say something to, even if it is just a simple "Hello." You can find people EVERYWHERE, so don't say you can't find someone. Try going on a walk, to the mall, a restaurant, the library, or even the gas station. To overcome your shyness, make an effort to say hello to at least one person every day.

  2. Step 2

Get involved in your community. Go to church or volunteer. When you get involved you are forced to speak with people, which will help you combat your shyness. You don't have to be shy forever. It will be scary at first to open up to people, but with a little practice it will become completely natural.

  3. Step 3

Get a job that forces you to interact with different people on a daily basis. If you are serious about not wanting to be shy any more, you will need all of the practice you can get. Get a customer service job or become a sales person in a store. Soon you may find that you aren't as shy as you once were.

  4. Step 4

Try going out for some karaoke with friends. That should surely cure you from being shy, as long as you actually get up and sing!

  5. Step 5

Take a public speaking class at a local college. This is a great way to learn some social skills and learn how to speak more effectively. It will rid you of your shyness in no time!
